ROCKINGHAM, N.C. – FirstHealth of the Carolinas is proud to recognize Shanice Taylor, a patient care assistant from Moore Regional Hospital-Richmond, as the most recent winner of FirstHealth’s BEE Award.
The BEE Award recognizes employees who go above and beyond to show compassion and extraordinary service, fulfilling the system’s core purpose – To Care for People.
Why Shanice Taylor Was Nominated for the BEE Award
As a patient care assistant, Taylor provides essential hands-on support to patients in the emergency department. She is known for her ability to keep a positive attitude and exemplify teamwork, supporting her colleagues in every way possible.
Emergency Department Team Praises Taylor’s Dedication
A fellow team member nominated Taylor for her exceptional work during a particularly busy shift.
“At the start of our shift, we found ourselves in a challenging situation, with both Zone 1 and Zone 2 fully operational and several patients waiting for assistance in the waiting room,” the team member said.
“Amidst the chaos, Shanice stepped up remarkably. She took on the demanding responsibility of managing both zones while also escorting patients to the floor, showing incredible dedication and efficiency. She is undeniably a crucial asset to our team, and her hard work and initiative did not go unnoticed.”
Taylor has already made a positive impact in the ED since starting with FirstHealth in June of this year. Her manager, Ashley Stubbs, BSN, R.N., assistant nurse manager for the emergency department, said it's because of her incredible dedication and efficiency.
“Despite the demanding circumstances, she maintained a positive attitude, exemplified teamwork and supported her colleagues wherever she was needed,” she said. “FirstHealth Richmond Emergency Department is proud to have her as a member of our team.”
