CNA Hannah Whitaker Recognized with BEE Award at Montgomery Memorial

Hannah WhitakerTROY, N.C. – FirstHealth of the Carolinas is proud to recognize Hannah Whitaker, a certified nursing assistant from Montgomery Memorial Hospital, as the most recent winner of FirstHealth’s BEE Award.

The BEE Award recognizes employees who go above and beyond to show compassion and extraordinary service, fulfilling the system’s core purpose – To Care for People.

As a CNA, Whitaker provides essential hands-on bedside care to patients throughout the 3rd Medical Unit at MMH. Since joining FirstHealth in 2021, she has been known for her compassion and professionalism.

A fellow team member nominated her for her outstanding care for a recent rehabilitation patient.

“One of our rehabilitation patients has required tireless hours of ADL assistance and emotional redirection as they undergo cognitive and rehabilitative therapy,” the team member said.

“It is the actions taken by Hannah that have provided the patient, her family and the care team at MMH with the ability to optimize her care. In fact, the patient is now standing and ambulating for the first time in years because of the outstanding patient care provided by CNA Whitaker.”

“Hannah truly goes above and beyond for her patients,” she said. “She creates a positive atmosphere and pays attention to detail, providing a great example of how small things do make the biggest difference.”

The BEE Award (Beyond Exceptional Expectations) is designed to honor non-nurses who help support nurses in delivering exceptional patient care.

Nominations can be made to honor patient care technicians, specialty technicians, respiratory therapists, food and nutrition staff, transport or other colleagues outside of nursing.
