Drs. Chintalapudi and Tellez, both board-certified neurologists, started the practice in 2000. Together, they bring a unique combination of experience and specialized training to the patients we serve.
Giridhar Chintalapudi M.D., FAASM
A native of India, Dr. Chintalapudi (Dr. Chin) completed medical school at Kurnool Medical School in Southern India. After moving to the United States in 1994, he completed a neurology residency at the State University of New York – Stony Brook where he was nominated as a doctor of the year by patients.
After becoming board certified in neurology in 1998, he continued to pursue an interest in sleep medicine in which he also became board certified. Soon after concluding his training, he was appointed medical director for a sleep center and invited to become a clinical instructor at Indiana University at Purdue.
Since 2000, Dr. Chin has lived in North Carolina. He was the director of the sleep medicine programs at Siler City Community College from 2006-2010 and at Sandhills Community College from 2008–2010.
He is also board certified in Neuromuscular Disease and General Neurology by the American Board of American Specialties. He has been with Sandhills Neurologists since it’s inception in 2000.
Henry Tellez, M.D.
Dr. Tellez was born in Detroit and raised in Colombia. He obtained his medical degree from Universidad del Valle, Colombia and later completed his internship and neurology residency at Saint Louis University in Missouri. Dr. Tellez also completed a fellowship in Nerve Conduction Studies (NCV/EMG) & Neuromuscular Diseases at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill.
He is board certified in general neurology, neuromuscular medicine and vascular neurology by the American Board of Medical Specialties. Dr. Tellez is also certified by the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties (UCNS) in the field of neuroimaging (MRI/CT).
His neuroimaging services include reading brain/spine magnetic resonance scans, in addition to nerve conduction studies and electromyography (NCS/EMG).
Dr. Tellez is fluent in Spanish to better serve Spanish-speaking patients.
