Open Access

Open Access Routine Screening Colonoscopy at FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital

Open access routine screening colonoscopies are scheduled by the health care provider directly with the FirstHealth Digestive Health Center. From there, the screening date is scheduled with the patient, and the patient receives important information about the procedure before reporting to FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital for the service. Open access colonoscopies are not appropriate in patients who cannot tolerate or be easily and safely sedated or whose general medical condition could cause the medications or procedure to pose a risk to their health.
