Who Qualifies for Short-Term Rehab?
To be approved for short-term rehabilitation, patients must have a skilled medical need. Common qualifying situations include:
- IV antibiotics administered more than once a day
- Short-term rehabilitation or skilled physical therapy needs, such as strengthening after surgery or illness
- Complex wound care or frequent dressing changes
Insurance Requirements
- Managed Medicare, Medicaid & Private Insurance: Pre-authorization required
- Traditional Medicare A & B: A three-midnight inpatient stay within the past 30 days is required for coverage
