Grief Counseling & Support
How We Can Help
FirstHealth grief counseling is available to anyone in the community, from children to older adults. Our grief counselors are specially trained and experienced professionals who offer both individual and group counseling. Grief can be overwhelming when you experience the loss of a loved one. After a death, it is easy to feel lost and alone. Difficult emotions such as guilt, resentment, confusion or anger are often experienced alongside grief. We know discussing these feelings is not always easy and you may need more support than friends and family can give.
Grief Camp
Each year, we host free two-day grief camps for children and teens. The goal of our grief camps is to offer support to adolescents who have experienced the death of someone special, and give them the opportunity to meet and share with others in similar situations. These camps are open to anyone in the community. Camp Lost & Found for Teens is intended for teenagers aged 12 to 17. Camp Lost & Found is intended for children aged 5 to 11. Each camp includes structured activities, such as:
-
- Creative arts
- Grief education
- Journaling
- Sports
- Swimming
