FirstHealth Fitness Offering Medically Based Programs Following Clarification from NC
| Date Posted: 6/10/2020
Following clarification from the North Carolina Attorney General, on June 15 we are opening our doors to members who utilize our medically-directed programs, including the Exercise is Medicine and Rock Steady Boxing Programs. Find out how you can return to the exercise that keeps you healthy. The rest of our facility will continue to operate on a modified schedule. Learn more about how we are putting safety first.
Dear FirstHealth Fitness Members:
Since our opening in 1995, FirstHealth Fitness has been focused on providing excellent wellness services throughout the Sandhills. Our six medically-based centers continue to do that today, operating as integral parts of the FirstHealth system as we all navigate the COVID-19 pandemic.
We aim to be much more than just a gym, and we have stepped outside of our comfort zone after closing our doors in March due to the pandemic.
Our Healthy at Home series provided members with a digital way to stay active, and since our partial reopening last month we have looked to serve through outdoor fitness classes and the pools located at ve of our six centers. Now, we are moving into a new phase following clarification from the North Carolina Attorney General.
Beginning Monday, June 15, we will be opening our doors to members who utilize our Exercise is Medicine and Rock Steady Boxing programs, along with other medically-directed programs. If you would like more information about how to return to the exercise that keeps you healthy, please visit your FirstHealth Fitness location and speak with us about getting a recommendation from a medical provider.
You can also speak directly with your physician and bring a recommendation with you to FirstHealth Fitness. For your convenience, download this form to be completed by your physician or medical provider. Please present the completed form upon entering any of our fitness facilities. As we all know, exercise is key to healthy brains and bodies, and we look forward to serving you.
Be confident that FirstHealth Fitness centers are safe. The following safety measures, developed in consultation with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Medical Fitness Association, are in place since we partially reopened:
- Mandatory temperature checks for all those who enter the center, including staff • Universal masking for all staff
- Mandate physical distancing of at least 6 feet between clients
- Staff members will be sanitizing all high touchpoint
- No one with active respiratory symptoms is allowed in the center
- High-touch areas such as locker rooms are sanitized every 30 minutes
- Signage is posted throughout the facility to encourage hygiene and social distancing
- Hand sanitizers and disinfecting wipes are accessible for members and staff
Thank you for supporting FirstHealth Fitness throughout the years, and we look forward to seeing you soon!
Sincerely,
John Caliri
