Matthew Harmody, M.D., medical director, FirstHealth Emergency Medical Services, recognizes several Chatham County first responders at the Chatham County Emergency Operations Center on July 2, 2019, for providing outstanding and exceptional life-saving emergency medical care. On April 10, 2019, Chatham County resident David Tillman was in full cardiac arrest. Susan Poe, dispatcher, Chatham County Communications; Sandor (Sean) Balogh, paramedic, FirstHealth EMS Chatham; Gene Harris, EMT, FirstHealth EMS Chatham; and Josh Brooks, firefighter, Bonlee Volunteer Fire Department, were presented life-saving awards for their actions in the incident. Their actions demonstrated their commitment to providing the highest standard of patient care. The award commended their dedication to the preservation of life.
