David J. Kilarski, CEO Receives ACHE Regent’s Award

David J. PINEHURST- David J. Kilarski, CEO of FirstHealth of the Carolinas, received the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Senior-Level Healthcare Executive’s Regent Award.

 

The award was bestowed on Kilarski by Brian Canfield, Regent for North Carolina and Chief Operating Officer for FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, and Jeanenne Watters, President of Sandhills Healthcare Executives Forum and director, medical staff services at FirstHealth of the Carolinas.  The Senior-Level Healthcare Executive Regent’s Award recognizes ACHE members who are experienced in the field and have made significant contributions to the advancement of health care management excellence and the achievement of ACHE’s goals.

 

Members are evaluated on leadership ability, innovative and creative management, executive capability in developing their own organization and promoting its growth in stature in the community, contributions to the development of others in the health care profession, leadership in state, local or provincial hospital and health association activities, participation in civic/community activities and projects, participation in ACHE activities, and interest in assisting ACHE in achieving its objectives.

 

Kilarski has served as CEO of FirstHealth of the Carolinas since October 2011.  Prior to joining FirstHealth, he was president and chief executive officer of Marymount Hospital and Marymount Health Care Systems in Garfield Heights, Ohio from 2003 to 2011 and president of South Pointe Hospital in Warrensville Heights, Ohio from 2006 to 2011.  Both Marymount and South Pointe are Cleveland Clinic Regional Hospitals. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, demonstrating a commitment to professional excellence.

 

Having had a very successful health care career, Kilarski will retire in July.
