Speaker: Alice D. Ma, M.D.
Dr. Ma completed her medical training at the University of Michigan Medical School and
her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. She also completed
a fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Ma is a
Professor of Medicine at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill.
She is also the director of the Hematology and Oncology Fellowship at UNC – Chapel Hill.
Learning Objectives:
• Use the bleeding assessment tool to assess the likelihood of an underlying bleeding disorder.
• Appropriately order tests to assess bleeding risk prior to invasive procedures.
Target Audience:
All physicians and health care professionals involved in the care of
patients with suspected bleeding disorders.

Lack of knowledge for current recommendations for patients with suspected bleeding disorders.
