New Physician Joins FirstHealth Primary Care in Raeford

RAEFORD – Andrew LePorte, D.O., is joining the FirstHealth Primary Care team in Raeford, joining Linda Hughes, M.D. and Amy Gaweda, FNP at the Physician Offices & Specialty Center located on Fayetteville Road.
Dr. LePorte graduated from Clemson University Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. degree in biological services, and his doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio. He was a family medicine resident at Duke/Southern Regional Area Health Education Center in Fayetteville, N.C.
“As an osteopathic family medicine doctor, I treat all ages and conditions,” says Dr. LePorte. “I specialize in osteopathic manipulative therapy, which is a hands-on approach to treating pain. I also believe that the body, spirit and mind are a unit that work together to allow the body to be capable of self-healing.”
He brings more than three years of experience to the practice, and hopes to help patients through traditional medical treatments, while emphasizing the importance of nutrition and a healthy, active lifestyle. In addition to basic primary care procedures, he will also be offering musculoskeletal injections, dermatologic biopsies and long-term contraception services.

Additionally, the Hoke campus is beautiful, and provides an array of diagnostic equipment and medical specialties which will be beneficial for all of my patients.”
An Ohio native, Dr. LePorte is looking forward to living in the south and beginning his practice in the Sandhills area. He resides in Hope Mills with his bride-to-be, Christina.
