FirstHealth Dental Care Receives Grant from the Academy of Dentistry International Foundation

SOUTHERN PINES – FirstHealth Dental Care has received a $1,000 New Fellows Grant from the Academy of Dentistry International (ADI) Foundation.
The grant will be used to purchase toothbrushes, toothpaste and floss for underserved children in the communities that FirstHealth Dental Care serves.
“As a recently inducted fellow in the Academy of Dentistry International, I am thrilled to receive the New Fellows grant,” says Sharon Nicholson Harrell, DDS, MPH, FAGD, director of FirstHealth Dental Care. “This grant will allow us to provide necessary care for our patients. It is our mission to provide only the best care, and we are incredibly grateful that the ADI recognizes our mission and is allowing us to help even more children with this grant.”
For 20 years, FirstHealth Dental Care has provided dental care to more than 28,000 underserved children in Moore, Montgomery and Hoke counties. The dentists and staff at FirstHealth Dental Care provide care for children from birth to 21 years who receive Medicaid, Health Choice or are uninsured and qualify by income level. Services provided at FirstHealth Dental Care include preventive dental sealants, cleanings and exams, white and silver fillings, extractions and spacers.
The Academy of Dentistry International Foundation supports the Academy of Dentistry International by allocating grants for projects and missions, advancing dentistry throughout the world and improving the oral and general health and welfare of the citizens of every nation.
