Gretchen S. Arnoczy, M.D.
Dr. Arnoczy completed her medical degree at the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL. She completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine and her fellowship in Infectious Disease at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine. Dr. Arnoczy is board certified
in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease and is professionally associated with FirstHealth of the Carolinas.

Objectives – At the completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
• Describe recent trends in antibiotic resistance including MRSA, VRE, CRE and other multi-drug
resistant organisms
• Use diagnostic tools available to identify resistant pathogens
• Examine the new antibiotics available to treat resistant pathogens
• Participate in antimicrobial stewardship to help prevent the
development of further resistance

Target Audience:
All Physicians and Health
Care Professionals.

Lack of most recent
knowledge of trends in
antibiotic resistance and the
newest antibiotic therapies.

support antimicrobial
stewardship.
