Emergency Department at Sandhills Regional Medical Center Closes

HAMLET – As of March 6, 2017, Sandhills Regional Medical Center (SRMC) has closed its emergency department, thus no longer providing emergency services at Sandhills in Hamlet.
Emergency services have been relocated to the nearby FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital.
While emergency services are no longer be provided at Sandhills, the facility remains open and continues to provide services to the community.
“FirstHealth strives to provide quality care to the communities we serve,” says John Jackson, president of both Richmond Memorial and Sandhills Regional. “With the addition of Sandhills Regional to the FirstHealth family, we have been able to further that mission in Richmond County.”
SRMC will continue to provide inpatient and outpatient medical services including surgery, MRI, cardiopulmonary care, imaging, endoscopy, urogynecology and intensive outpatient behavioral services.
Patients in Hamlet seeking services for medical conditions such as colds, flu, strep throat and minor injuries now have access to the new convenient walk-in clinic, FirstHealth Convenient Care in Hamlet, located on Highway 74 Business, across the street from Sandhills Regional Medical Center and Richmond Community College.
