ROCKINGHAM – The Wound Care & Hyperbarics program at FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital has received a national award for continued excellence in wound healing.
The Robert A. Warriner III Center of Excellence award goes to wound care centers in the Healogics network that have met the highest level of quality standards for a minimum of two consecutive years. The program at Richmond Memorial Hospital has achieved patient satisfaction rates higher than 92 percent and a healing rate of a least 91 percent in fewer than 31 media days, along with several other quality standards, for three years in a row.
Healogics Inc. is the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services. Of its nearly 800 wound care centers, 334 were eligible for and 169 received the 2017 Center of Excellence award, which is named for a wound care pioneer and former Healogics chief medical officer.
“This award acknowledges what our patients already know – that the staff at FirstHealth Wound Care & Hyperbarics consistently delivers a high-level of service and care to our patients,” says David Strom, M.D., an orthopaedic surgeon and medical director of FirstHealth Wound Care & Hyperbarics. “I am fortunate to work with this great team, and we are very proud to once again be acknowledged for our healing rates and patient satisfaction.”
According to John Jackson, president of FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital, FirstHealth Wound Care & Hyperbarics focuses on providing the best possible wound care treatment to its patients.
“The success of that goal is reflected by this award, which confirms the compassionate care that a very dedicated staff provides to its unique patient population every day,” he says.
