Emergency medicine specialist joins FirstHealth Wound Care & Hyperbarics

PINEHURST – A specialist in emergency medicine is now seeing patients at the FirstHealth Wound Care & Hyperbarics offices in Hoke and Moore counties.

 

Since 2003, Matthew F. Reinhardt, M.D., has been affiliated with Sandhills Emergency Physicians, the physician practice that provides specialty services in all FirstHealth of the Carolinas emergency departments. At FirstHealth Wound Care & Hyperbarics, Dr. Reinhardt has joined a medical team that offers specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds that have not healed in a reasonable amount of time.

 

Treatments include negative pressure wound therapy, debridement, cellular-based issue or skin substitute application, offloading or total contact casts, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

 

Dr. Reinhardt received a B.A. degree in history from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, before earning his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed a residency in emergency medicine at Christiana Care Health System in Newark, Delaware, where he was chief resident during his third year in the program.
