Nurse Practitioner Joins FirstHealth Internal Medicine

ROCKINGHAM – A former member of the FirstHealth Hospitalist Service staff will become part of the medical provider team at FirstHealth Internal Medicine in Rockingham next week.
Nurse practitioner Debra Parsons, N.P., will join Steven Millen, ANP, at the office that is located at 809 S. Long Drive, Suite H, Rockingham, on Monday, Jan. 9. She previously was a nurse practitioner in the Hospitalist Service at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
Certified as a geriatric nurse practitioner, Parsons has worked in short-term rehabilitation programs in skilled nursing facilities as well as in acute-care settings. She began her career as a registered nurse with Duke University Medical Center in Durham.
After earning both her bachelor’s degree in nursing and master’s degree in nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Parsons received her post-master’s certificate, nurse practitioner, from Duke University in Durham.
At FirstHealth Internal Medicine, her responsibilities will include the diagnosis, treatment and health care management of adult patients ages 18 and older.
