Current weight (6/21/16) = 190 pounds

70.5 pounds lost

On June 25 our son arrived home after being away in the Coast Guard for the past 428 days.  The last time he saw me I was at my heaviest, needless to say he was shocked with my transformation and he was shocked to find out that we now weigh about the same. He was even more shocked to find that I am able to wear “some” of his clothes. We celebrated my 50th birthday two days later and it was easier dealing with the “big 5-0” being 70.5 pounds lighter.

We spent the day on the lake and had a cookout.  I honestly was not able to eat much especially considering my new stomach and my new relationship with food, quite a change from my 49th birthday.  One of the great things about this journey is you are able to do things you have not been able to do in years. One of my personal goals was to be able to do more behind our boat on the lake (knee board, wake board and wake surf). With the 70 pounds of weight-loss and the increase of strength (from working out 5-6 days a week) I tried and was able to knee board for the first time in about 20 years.  I also tried to wake board and wake surf, but those are both a work in progress and will take some more work (a lot harder then knee boarding).

I find that my mind is always getting in the way and telling my body that I cannot physically do certain activities and my body has to retrain my brain to my new physical abilities.
