Speaker Bryant A. Murphy, M.D., MBA Dr. Murphy completed his medical degree, internship and residency at Bowman Gray School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He also completed his fellowship in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesiology at Bowman Gray and earned his MBA at George Washington University. Dr. Murphy is professionally associated with the University of North Carolina Health System in Chapel Hill and is a representative of the North Carolina Medical Board. Objectives
At the completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
•Discuss NCMB’s policy for the use of opiates for the treatment of pain and other resources
• Name key aspects of appropriate care and patient management for patients prescribed opioids
