PINEHURST – Kymberly LaRiviere, BSN, R.N. will be the guest presenter at the upcoming Stroke Caregiver Support Talk at the Moore County Senior Enrichment Center.
The presentation, titled “Emotions, Medications, What’s Next?,” will cover stroke education to help caregivers understand what has happened to their loved one, medical management and medication adherence, and the emotional, behavioral and physical effects of stroke.
“A stroke survivor’s caregivers are an important source of long-term support during recovery and rehabilitation,” says LaRiviere. “Caregiver support and education are necessary to adjust to the changes in their life.”
LaRiviere has served as the stroke coordinator at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital since June 2015. Prior to that, she worked as a registered nurse in the Medical Neuro Intensive Care Unit at Moore Regional for nearly six years. She received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Connecticut.
