Objectives: At the completion of this activity, the participant should be able to: • Examine the strategies available for the management of severe acute necrotizing pancreatitis • Discuss early and late sequela • Describe surgical options for management of acute necrotizing pancreatitis and sequela

Target Audience - All physicians and other interested health care providers.

Speaker  - John B. Martinie, M.D., FACS. Dr. Martinie earned his Doctor of Medicine at the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. He completed his residency in General Surgery at Brown University School of Medicine at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island, and his Fellowship in Hepatopancreatobiliary Surgery and Multi-organ Transplantation at McGill University School of Medicine, MUHC, at The Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal, Quebec. He is professionally associated with the Carolinas Medical Center – Division of HPB Surgery.
