Montgomery Memorial Hospital to Offer Safe Sitter Program
| Date Posted: 5/12/2016
TROY – FirstHealth Montgomery Memorial Hospital will offer the Safe Sitter Babysitter Program for youths ages 11 to 14 on Friday, July 15.
Safe Sitter is a medically accurate, hands-on class that teaches boys and girls how to handle emergencies when caring for children. Since young children cannot always communicate their needs or protect themselves, a babysitter must be able to handle whatever situation arises.
Participants in the Safe Sitter program will learn how to handle medical emergencies, including CPR for infant and child and choking for infant and child, as well as how to call for emergency help. They will also learn about safety for the sitter, basic child care skills such as diapering and feeding, babysitting business skills, and safety for the sitter and children.
Safe Sitter classes are available through FirstHealth Corporate Education. The $20 fee covers materials, lunch and snacks for the day.
The class will be held from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. in Conference Room 1 at FirstHealth Montgomery Memorial Hospital.
To register participants for Safe Sitter, please call (910) 715-1583.
