Experienced Addiction Specialist Named Medical Director of FirstHealth Behavioral Health Services

PINEHURST—Gregory Collins, M.D., has been named Medical Director for FirstHealth Behavioral Health Services.
Dr. Collins is a board certified addiction psychiatrist who has dedicated his entire professional career to the treatment of alcohol and drug problems of all types. He earned his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Prior to joining FirstHealth in 2015, Dr. Collins established and oversaw a successful chemical dependency practice with the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
During his career, he has achieved widespread recognition for his contributions to the field of psychiatry. He has treated enlisted men and officers, Washington lobbyists and White House attachés, congressmen and senators, business executives and athletes as well as everyday people with a variety of complaints – from PTSD to alcohol and drug addiction. He served as team psychiatrist for the Cleveland Browns for 17 years and the Cleveland Indians for 11 years.
“Dr. Collins brings with him the energy and enthusiasm needed to lead FirstHealth’s Behavioral Health Services department,” says Mary Silverman, administrative director, FirstHealth Behavioral Health Services. “We are excited about his vision for enhancing the care that we offer to our patients and to the community.”
FirstHealth Behavioral Health Services provides multi-level, integrated services to assist patients in their recovery from the physical, emotional, social and spiritual effects of their illness. Services include adult inpatient psychiatric services, addiction recovery services including a partial hospitalization program, intensive outpatient services and a professionals support aftercare program, as well as a variety of outpatient clinic services.
