Speaker Michael O. Meyers, M.D. Dr. Meyers completed his medical degree at Bowman Gray School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He completed his residency at Louisiana State UMC in New Orleans, Louisiana. He completed his fellowship at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Meyers is board certified in General Surgery and professionally associated with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine.
Objectives At the completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
• Discuss the current research findings on the prevention and diagnosis of esophageal cancer
• Examine the latest research on treatments (chemotherapy [targeted drugs], radiation and/or surgery) that are available and patients who are likely to benefit Professional Practice Gap to be filled: Care for esophageal patients being based on most recent research and findings
