Objectives At the completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
• Examine the core elements of an antimicrobial stewardship program to include but not limited to
- Use of policies and interventions to improve antibiotic use
- Tracking and reporting antimicrobial use and outcomes * Antimicrobial use measures (days of therapy [DOT] or defined daily dose [DDD])
- Prescribing for specific syndromes without interfering with prompt and effective treatment for severe infection or sepsis
