Health Educator Joins FirstHealth Community Health Services

PINEHURST – Kristen Cook has joined the FirstHealth Community Health Services health programs team as a community health educator.
Cook received a B.S. degree with a concentration in health promotion from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, and a Master of Health Education (M.A.) from East Carolina University in Greenville. She is originally from Albemarle, North Carolina.
Cook is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), as well as an ACE Certified Personal Trainer.
Prior to joining the Community Health team, Cook served as a nutrition educator for the FirstHealth School Health Centers in Montgomery County, where she provided nutrition counseling for overweight students. She is also a former personal trainer for Gold’s Gym in Albemarle.
Cook will serve Moore, Montgomery, Hoke and Richmond counties, educating the residents of those communities on the importance of healthy behaviors.
“I am looking very forward to working with the community health team and helping to educate both youth and adults in the communities FirstHealth serves,” she says.
