FirstHealth pain specialist to speak at Sanford Boomer event

PINEHURST – James V. Winkley, M.D., a FirstHealth physician who specializes in pain management and anesthesiology, will be a presenter for the 13th annual Boomer Senior & Caregiver Expo in Sanford on Wednesday, Aug. 26.

 

His topic will be “Advanced Treatment Options in Back Pain and Spinal Stenosis.”

 

FirstHealth of the Carolinas is a platinum sponsor of the Boomer Senior & Caregiver Expo, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Sanford’s Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center, 1801 Nash St.  Dr. Winkley’s portion of the program will begin at 11 a.m.

 

One of the physicians offering pain-management services at FirstHealth Back & Neck Pain located at 1227 Carthage St. in Sanford, Dr. Winkley earned his medical degree from the F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine of the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. He completed his internship and residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D. C. 

 

Board certified in both anesthesiology and pain management, he has been with Pinehurst Anesthesia Associates and FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital for eight years.

 

Presented by The Enrichment Center of Lee County, an N.C.-certified Senior Center of Excellence, the Boomer Senior & Caregiver Expo will feature 100-plus vendors, educational seminars, massages, health screenings, games, prizes and giveaways. Admission is free, and all adults are welcome.
