In recognition of Memorial Day and the national “We Honor Veterans” campaign, staff and volunteers from FirstHealth Hospice & Palliative Care placed 500 small American flags along the labyrinth walkways in the garden on the Hospice campus off Highway 15-501 this week. Developed by the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization and the Department of Veterans Affairs, “We Honor Veterans” recognizes the unique needs of American veterans as they face life-limiting illness. FirstHealth Hospice served 182 veterans during Fiscal Year 2014 and has provided services for 116 veterans since the beginning of Fiscal Year 2015 in October.
