New Health Educator Joins FirstHealth Community Health Services

PINEHURST – Paula Brown, MPH, has joined the FirstHealth Community Health Services health programs team as a community health educator.
Brown received a B.S. degree with a concentration in health promotions and a minor in psychology from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, and a Master of Public Health (MPH) from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia.
Before joining FirstHealth, Brown completed a post-grad research fellowship at Fort Bragg with the U.S. Army Public Health Command, where she assisted in implementing an Operation Kid Fit program that taught military parents about the importance of proper nutrition and physical activity for their kids.
Her experience includes teaching nutritional and physical health programs, public health and clinical research at Duke University.
Brown will serve Moore, Montgomery, Hoke and Richmond counties, educating the residents of those communities on the importance of healthy behaviors.
“I am excited about working for FirstHealth and especially Community Health Services,” she says. “I see this as a great opportunity to help improve the health of the communities FirstHealth serves.”
