Delta Dental Delivers Grant to FirstHealth Dental Care

SOUTHERN PINES – On behalf of the Delta Dental Foundation, Delta Dental of North Carolina CEO Curt Ladig presented a $4,000 grant to FirstHealth Dental Care, a group of centers that provides dental care to underserved children in Moore, Montgomery and Hoke Counties.
“Providing quality health care to children who otherwise would not receive it is at the heart of our work,” said Dr. Sharon NicholsonHarrell, director, FirstHealth Dental Care. “Community support from organizations like Delta Dental of North Carolina is much appreciated and helps us to serve even more children in our counties.”
With the help of this $4,000 grant, underserved children in Moore, Montgomery and Hoke Counties will receive access to much-needed oral healthcare.
The grant forMoore, Montgomery and HokeCounties is one of 13 grants totaling $40,000 that Delta Dental is donating to North Carolina oral health organizations and programs.
“Improving the oral health of the communities we serve is Delta Dental of North Carolina’s mission,” Ladig said. “We are delighted to be able to help deliver smiles to children inMoore, Montgomery and HokeCounties through much-needed dental care.”
Grant recipients were selected based on criteria that included the number of at-risk children served, the uniqueness of the program, the level of community involvement in the program and the ability to measure results. Delta Dental hopes the grants will help children who do not have a dental home and will fulfill the company’s mission of improving the oral health of the communities it serves.
