WHISPERING PINES – The catchphrase for FirstHealth Convenient Care and Family Medicine is “get in, get out, get better.” But organizers of the office's upcoming grand opening celebration hope the day's visitors will take some time to familiarize themselves with the layout and organization of the recently opened medical offices and get to know the health care providers who offer services there.
The event will get under way Saturday, Aug. 16, at 10:30 a.m. at the FirstHealth Convenient Care and Family Medicine location at 7473 Highway 22 in Whispering Pines (the Food Lion shopping center) and will continue until 12:30 p.m. Activities will include a Bouncy House and face-painting for children, a live band for adults, and prizes and refreshments for everyone.
Representatives from Moore County EMS and area fire and police departments will be on hand along with some members of the two medical office staffs.
“Our providers and staff look forward to meeting established or prospective patients and introducing them to our operation,” says Lisa Cowan, M.D., medical director of FirstHealth's Convenient Care program. “Whispering Pines is the newest of FirstHealth’s three convenient care locations, and we are eager to speak to members of the community about what we have to offer. We hope lots of people from Whispering Pines and surrounding communities will join us for this event.”
“The Whispering Pines convenient care/family medicine operation is unique to this area,” says Todd Nicholson, PA-C, a certified physician assistant with FirstHealth Family Medicine. “In our shared space, patients needing walk-in care for such ailments as cold, flu and sinus infections or minor injury can find assistance while those seeking the established care of a primary care provider can also find help. We'll be talking about both services during our grand opening in hopes that our guests will remember us when determining their health care needs.”
The FirstHealth Convenient Care and Family Medicine offices are staffed by board certified physicians and physician assistants. Walk-ins are welcome at FirstHealth Convenient Care, and appointments are not necessary during the seven-day-a-week clinic hours of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. For more information, call (910) 215-5100.
