Beaty Named Administrator of FirstHealth Hospital in Hoke County

RAEFORD – A health care professional with more than 20 years of nursing leadership to her credit has been named administrator of FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital-Hoke Campus. Susan Beaty, R.N., is currently administrative director of FirstHealth Oncology Services at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, a position she has held since 2008.
According to Brian Canfield, chief operating officer of Moore Regional Hospital, who led the national search for the Hoke hospital’s administrator, Beaty was a natural choice for the new position.Beaty will assume her new responsibilities as the first administrator of the first hospital in Hoke County on Sept. 2. FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital-Hoke Campus is scheduled to begin taking patients on Oct. 1. A grand opening celebration, to be held in conjunction with Raeford’s annual Turkey Festival, will be held on Sept. 22.

Beaty received her associate degree in nursing from Clinton Community College in Plattsburg, N.Y.; her bachelor’s degree in nursing from SUNY College of Technology in Utica, N.Y.; and her master’s degree from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minn.
Her previous nursing leadership experience includes positions with Duke University Medical Center, first as head nurse/clinic manager for the Bone Marrow Transplant Program and later as nurse clinician and administrative supervisor for the Department of Medicine, Hematology/Oncology Associates.
She joined FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in 1998 as a staff nurse and the assistant director of nursing for the Critical Care and Telemetry units. After a period of service with Scotland Memorial Hospital in Laurinburg, she rejoined FirstHealth at Richmond Memorial Hospital in Rockingham.
