ROCKINGHAM – Allison Duckworth, R.N., has earned the designation of Certified in Executive Nursing Practice (CENP) from the American Organization of Nurse Executives.  This national credential distinguishes an individual as being among the elite of executive nurse leaders.

“Allison is respected by her colleagues at FirstHealth as an outstanding nurse leader,” says John Jackson, president of FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital.  “We are proud that the American Organization of Nurse Executives also recognizes her abilities by providing her with this elite designation.  We are fortunate to have someone of her caliber in our organization.”

Duckworth has served as Richmond Memorial’s chief operating officer and nurse executive since 2006.  Also a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, she has served in a variety of health care leadership roles over the past 20 years.

To earn the CENP designation, an individual must satisfy eligibility requirements that incorporate a blend of work experience and education, agree to adhere to Professional Standards of Conduct and pass the CENP examination. The CENP examination tests knowledge required of a competent nurse executive in the areas of communication and relationship building, the health care environment, leadership, professionalism, business skills, and information management and technology.

The CENP Program supports the community of nurse executives and is designed to provide an objective and rigorous assessment of professional knowledge and competence.

The American Organization of Nurse Executives Credentialing Center (AONE-CC) is the premier credentialing program for nurse leaders in executive nursing practice. For more information, call AONE-CC at (312) 422-2807 or visit the AONE-CC website at www.aone.org/certification.
