Kelly Kilgore (center), manager of firstspa, joins CARE-Net coordinator Laura Kuzma (left) and Pam Hudson (right), senior development officer for the Foundation of FirstHealth, following a ceremonial check presentation to the Cancer CARE Fund. During October, which was observed nationally as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, firstspa donated $1 to the Cancer CARE Fund for every spa service performed and $5 for every “Think Pink” Package purchased. The $567 total included $87 in cash donations from the staff of firstspa, a full-service spa located in the FirstHealth Center for Health & Fitness-Pinehurst. The Cancer CARE Fund assists FirstHealth cancer patients with needs ranging from wigs and prostheses to medication. The presentation ceremony was held Nov. 13 at the Clara McLean House of FirstHealth.
