PINEHURST– Three behavioral health professionals have joined the Outpatient Behavioral Services staff at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.

The practice offers mental health assessments and a wide range of treatment and counseling services on an outpatient basis.

New to the staff are Lindsay Johannes, Ph.D.; David Ruck, M.D.; and Shelwilbed O. “Billy” Wray, CAS, LPC, LCAS.

Dr. Johannes received her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Ohio University. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Johannes specializes in the treatment of children and adolescents, as well as adults experiencing mental health issues. Her clinical interests include ADHD, disruptive behavior disorders, mood disorders, anxiety, adolescent adjustment issues and behavioral management training with parents. Her clinical services include cognitive and psychological assessments of children, adolescents and adults.

Dr. Ruck is a child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist. He received his undergraduate degree from the United States Military Academy and his medical degree from Duke University. He completed his residency in psychiatry at Letterman Army Medical Center and completed a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the combined program at Letterman Army Medial and the University of California-San Francisco. With more than 30 years of mental health experience, Dr. Ruck is board certified in general psychiatry as well as in child and adolescent psychiatry. He works with adults on the inpatient psychiatry service and with patients of all ages in the outpatient clinic.

Wray earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology at Jackson State University and his master’s degree in community and agency counseling at Delta State University.  His clinical experience spans 23 years with a focus on the treatment of addictive disorders including alcohol, drugs and eating disorders for which he holds national, international and state licenses. Wray specializes in therapy in intensive outpatient groups (including therapy for chemical dependency), professional support aftercare groups and individual and couples therapy.

FirstHealth Outpatient Services is made up of 12 psychiatric registered nurses and licensed providers who care for patients who may be having emotional or dependency problems – all in a caring and confidential setting.
