It’ll Be a Casino Night Redux for Montgomery Foundation Fundraiser

TROY – Spring is always a special time in Montgomery County as the first hint of new green tints the Uwharries and blooming dogwoods officially signal the end of winter dreariness.
It’s also a special time for the FirstHealth Montgomery Foundation, which inaugurates the season with its Spring Event fundraiser.
The 2011 Spring Event, “Viva Las Casino Night,” was so well-received that organizers have planned a “Viva Las Casino Night Redux” for their 2012 program. Scheduled for Saturday, April 14, the event will once again fill the James H. Garner Center at 211 Burnette St., Troy, with the goodies of silent and live auctions and the fun of games of chance.
Proceeds will go to the FirstHealth Montgomery Foundation, which supports health care programs and allied services targeting the community’s underserved, including children, isolated elderly and the working poor.
“Funds raised go to support health care initiatives in Montgomery County,” says Beth Walker, president of FirstHealth Montgomery Memorial Hospital. “This year, the funds will support several much-needed programs in our community that have been impacted by the economy.”
The 2012 Spring Event will get under way with the opening of casino tables at 6:30 p.m. and the beginning of a three-hour silent auction that will close at 9:30 p.m. A live auction will begin at 8:30 p.m.
Black tie is optional, and cocktails and heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served.
“It is a fun, entertaining event and a great way to support the community by attending,” Walker says.
The FirstHealth Montgomery Foundation Board of Trustees is composed of Chair Jerry Arnold, Vice Chair Debby Barden, Jim Bulthuis, treasurer Tom Hicks, Russ Hollers, Cynthia Holt, Albert Johnson, Rick Kissell, Kat McRae, Billy Maness, Lane Prince and Trish Webb.
