PINEHURST – Zumba has become the hottest fitness trend to sweep the country in recent years. A Latin-inspired, easy-to-follow, calorie-burning fitness class, Zumba features great music and motivating choreography by instructors who are specifically trained to teach Zumba classes.
The FirstHealth Center for Health & Fitness-Pinehurst is inviting the community to participate in the “largest” Zumba class in Moore County. The second annual Zumba Spring Fling will be held in the courtyard area of the Fitness Center on Saturday, April 21. ZumbaKids will be offered from 9 to 9:30 a.m., followed by Zumba (ages 12 and up) from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Activities for kids will be offered from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
This event is free to everyone.
Since its inception in 2001, Zumba has exploded to more than 10 million participants in 90,000 classes each week. These classes are featured in more than 110 countries throughout the world. The craze, which seems to come from its motto “ditch the routine and join the party,” combines cardiovascular endurance and core strength with movements that will make you forget that it’s a workout.
The FirstHealth Centers for Health & Fitness offer several Zumba classes in both the Pinehurst and Southern Pines facilities that are among the most popular classes offered. Featured are Zumba, Zumba Gold, ZumbaKids and Aqua Zumba.
