CHPRMS awards, which are called Wallies, are presented annually to recognize excellence in health care public relations and marketing. Members of organizations compete in more than a dozen categories, and a panel of health care professionals chooses the winners.
The 2011 Fall Meeting was held Dec. 7-9 at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville.
FirstHealth’s Gold Wallie Award came from the Return on Investment (ROI) category and recognized a marketing campaign for the true open MRI at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital. Brittany Wallace was the account manager for the campaign, which included a presence on the FirstHealth website, billboards, magazine and newspaper ads, and physician referral materials.
Ernest Samuel, director of Imaging Services at Moore Regional, was instrumental in initiating the open MRI marketing blitz and collaborated with Wallace to help create the award-winning campaign.
The Silver Wallie was in the Direct Mail category for a direct mail piece seeking regional support for FirstHealth’s certificate of need application for a 65-bed hospital in Hoke County. Tara Ledford was the account manager for the project, which encouraged recipients to express support for the hospital project by either business reply card or website response.
FirstHealth graphics designer Eric Baker provided creative design for both of the award-winning projects.
According to Leslie Deane, administrative director of FirstHealth Planning and Marketing, CHPRMS has recognized FirstHealth’s Corporate Communications department with a number of Wallie awards throughout the years. “Every department at FirstHealth provides high-quality services and Corporate Communications is no exception, as evidenced by the fact that the department’s work product is recognized annually for excellence,” she says.
One of the largest affiliated societies in the country, CHPRMS has nearly 250 members who represent health care organizations and businesses throughout North and South Carolina.
