RAEFORD – The second annual Run for the Ribbons 5K and 1K, a part of the spring season of the Sandhills Race Series, is set for Saturday in Raeford at the Carolina Horse Park at Five Points. The event will be held in conjunction with the 60th running of the Stoneybrook Steeplechase.
The Carolina Horse Park Foundation and the Foundation of FirstHealth are partnering to raise cancer awareness and proceeds for Moore Regional Hospital Foundation’s Cancer CARE Fund. Registration fees include a T-shirt and admission to the Stoneybrook races that start at 1:30 p.m.
The cost of 5K registration $30, and 1K registration is $15. Registration is accepted online via www.active.com through Thursday, April 7, and registration forms can be printed from the event website at www.runfortheribbons5k.com.

For pre-registered runners, race packet pick-up is Friday, April 8, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Center for Health & Fitness-Pinehurst or the morning of the event at Carolina Horse Park. Registrations will be taken at the Center for Health & Fitness during packet pick-up for anyone who would still like to register. Registration is available through race morning.
Participation in the Sandhills Race Series (SRS), which encourages and recognizes participation in local races, is free and automatic with registration.
