Center for Health & Fitness-Pinehurst invites all to free Zumba class

PINEHURST – A fitness craze that is sweeping the country, Zumba is a Latin-inspired, easy-to-follow, calorie-burning fitness class that features great music and motivating choreography by instructors who are specifically trained to teach Zumba classes.
The FirstHealth Center for Health & Fitness-Pinehurst invites the community to participate in the largest Zumba class in Moore County. “Zumba Spring Fling” will be held in the center’s courtyard area on Saturday, April 30.
Kids Zumba (ages 4-11) will begin at 8:30 a.m. and will be followed by Zumba (ages 12 & up) at 9 a.m. The event is free to everyone, so all are invited to come out and enjoy taking part in this popular workout. Activities for children will be offered during the 9 a.m. hour.
The Center for Health & Fitness was the first in the community to offer Zumba to its members. That was more than two years ago. Today, classes often include 50 to 75 participants.
The Pinehurst fitness center also offers Zumba Gold and Zumba Kids classes and, coming in June, Aqua Zumba.
Since its inception in 2001, Zumba has exploded to include more than 10 million participants in 90,000 classes in more than 110 countries throughout the world each week. The craze seems to come from the Zumba motto to “ditch the routine and join the party” as participants gain cardiovascular endurance and core strength with movements that make them forget they are working out.
