New manager brings fitness, cosmetics background to firstspa

PINEHURST – The new manager of firstspa at the FirstHealth Center for Health & Fitness-Pinehurst comes to the position with a varied professional background that includes group exercise instruction and spa and cosmetics management.
Kelly Kilgore moved to the area from Savannah, Ga., after her career military husband was transferred to Fort Bragg. She grew up in Georgia and received a degree in sports medicine from Samford University in Birmingham, Ala.
“We are thrilled to have Kelly on board,” says John Caliri, director of the FirstHealth Centers for Health & Fitness. “Her background in the spa industry and her personal and professional commitment to fitness made her an ideal person to lead firstspa.”
After graduating from Samford, Kilgore worked as a group exercise instructor and trainer before joining MAC Cosmetics as a manager of makeup counters in various locations. She later moved into freelance wedding and party makeup consultation, and eventually connected with Glow Med Spa in Savannah, where she did wedding, party and large-event makeup consultations and became an assistant spa director in charge of the company’s Beauty Boutique.
She and her husband have two young daughters: 7-year-old Ava and 4-year-old Audry.
Kilgore says she is excited to be a part of the FirstHealth organization in general and the firstspa team in particular. “With my background in sports medicine, I believe that beauty comes from within, so I was very excited when I saw the spa with its connection to the medical fitness center and the hospital,” she says. “I’m also very excited to be over a great group of girls. I hope to help the spa grow and to provide great customer service while allowing our customers to relax and enjoy their spa experience with us.”
