Convergent Procedure in The Triangle Physician magazine

The Convergent Procedure is a single minimally invasive procedure that fully integrates the best of the surgical and catheter approaches for the treatment of long-standing, persistent or difficult-to-treat atrial fibrillation. The groundbreaking procedure was pioneered by cardiothoracic surgeon Andy C. Kiser, M.D., of FirstHealth Cardiovascular and Thoracic Center and electrophysiologist Mark D. Landers, M.D., of Pinehurst Cardiology Associates. It was performed for the first time in the United States at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in 2009.
