FirstHealth Installs New Abbott Chemistry Analyzers at Hospitals

PINEHURST, N.C. - FirstHealth of the Carolinas has installed new chemistry analyzers at its four hospital locations.
Abbott’s next-generation Alinity system is designed to simplify diagnostics and enhance the testing capabilities of FirstHealth’s four hospital-based laboratories.
According to Elise Forest, administrative director of the laboratory at Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, the new equipment ensures standardization in chemistry testing across each of the FirstHealth laboratories.
“One goal we have in all our laboratories is to look for ways to increase efficiency without sacrificing any quality,” she said. “Our new analyzers allow us to increase throughput and prioritize samples when needed, and we have a standard process across our system.”
Forest said the improvements in the labs at Moore Regional Hospital, Moore Regional Hospital – Richmond, Moore Regional Hospital – Hoke and Montgomery Memorial Hospital also reflect FirstHealth’s commitment to patients and delivering high-quality care.
