Certified Physician Assistant Agnes Delaney Joins FirstHealth Cardiology - Raeford

PINEHURST, N.C. – Agnes B. Delaney, DMSc, MPAS, PA-C, has joined FirstHealth Cardiology and will serve patients in the Raeford office.
Delaney earned her Doctor of Medical Science at Southern Illinois University in May 22 and her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska. Delaney has most recently worked in cardiology in the eastern part of North Carolina.
Delaney said she’s thrilled to join the FirstHealth Cardiology team and looks forward to serving patients in Raeford.
“I visited this area over 10 years ago and I knew I wanted to eventually settle in the Pinehurst area. I am excited to join FirstHealth and contribute to the system’s mission and commitment to high-quality care,” Delaney said.
Delaney said her journey to working in health care started while working as a secretary in an intensive care unit.
“Through the expertise of the physicians and staff, critically ill patients were discharged home to their families. It was at that time I realized I wanted a career in direct patient care,” she said.
“Cardiology has always been my interest and I knew going into PA school I would pursue a career in cardiovascular medicine. I enjoy being part of a team-based approach to provide quality, accessible care to patients in the area. It is a privilege to care for patients and make some type of difference in their healthcare needs.”
Outside of work, Delaney said she enjoys cooking, listening to live music and spending time with family.
