New Advanced Nurse Practitioner Joins FirstHealth Cardiology

| Date Posted: 8/31/2021

PINEHURST, N.C. - Rachana Adhikari, ANP, has joined FirstHealth Cardiology in Pinehurst.

Adhikari earned a Master of Science in Nursing from The State University of New York at Buffalo in 2013 after completing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Nepal. She brings more than seven years of experience to the practice, having worked in cardiology since 2013.

Adhikari said she can’t wait to join the FirstHealth family.

“The FirstHealth mission is To Care for People. It says it all. As humans, that’s what we should be best at: taking care of each other when in need,” she said.

Adhikari said her family inspired her to seek a career in health care.

“I had a cousin who was a nurse and that inspired me to seek a career in this field. In addition, my grandfather was ill in the later years of his life. This was the biggest reason why I thought about going into health care,” she said.

“During my time in school, I was amazed in the advancements made in cardiology, and I quickly learned we could make a huge impact in people’s lives. Preventing and curing issues of the heart gives me a great forum to educate patients about their health, give them choices and be their advocate.”

Outside of work, Adhikari says she enjoys spending time with family and friends.

FirstHealth leads the region in advanced heart and vascular care, with services offered at Reid Heart Center and seven Sandhills based clinics. To schedule an appointment with Adhikari, call 910-715-8600.
