SANFORD—FirstHealth of the Carolinas and Pinehurst Surgical Clinic are pleased to announce that board certified urologist Bernard Stanfield, M.D., has joined FirstHealth Urology in Sanford and is now accepting new patients. Dr. Stanfield brings more than 40 years of urologic care experience to the practice.
Dr. Stanfield joins fellow urologist Manlio Goetzl, M.D., also of Pinehurst Surgical Clinic, at the office located at 1818 Doctors Drive in Sanford. The practice will relocate to FirstHealth Lee Campus later this summer.
“I’m thrilled to join Dr. Goetzl at FirstHealth Urology and further increase access to high-quality urology care close to home for residents in Lee County and surrounding communities,” said Dr. Stanfield. “Pinehurst Surgical Clinic has provided urology care to Lee County citizens for many years, but the expanded partnership between FirstHealth and Pinehurst Surgical Clinic to form FirstHealth Urology has only strengthened our efforts to serve the health care needs of the growing community.”
Dr. Stanfield earned his medical degree from the University of Missouri and completed an internship and residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii. He is a retired Colonel from the United States Army.
