Weather, Shipping Delays Impact Montgomery County COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics
| Date Posted: 2/17/2021
TROY, N.C. - FirstHealth of the Carolinas will reschedule COVID-19 vaccine appointments planned for February 18, 2021 in Montgomery County.
The change in schedule is a result of impending wintry weather expected in North Carolina and vaccine shipping delays related to winter storms in other parts of the country.
Those patients previously scheduled to receive either first or second doses Thursday at the James Garner Center in Troy will be rescheduled for a clinic with the same appointment time on Thursday, February 25.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, a delay of one week for those receiving second shots will not impact the effectiveness of the vaccine.
Patients will receive phone calls from FirstHealth officials about the change as well as messages through MyChart, FirstHealth’s online patient portal.
