| Date Posted: 2/23/2021

PINEHURST, NC – FirstHealth of the Carolinas congratulates Matthew Kuhn, AGACNP-BC as he joins FirstHealth Cardiology. Prior to joining the practice of FirstHealth Cardiology, Kuhn worked as a staff nurse in the cardiac catheterization lab at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital since 2016.

Kuhn earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Appalachian State University and recently graduated from Georgetown University with a Master of Science in Nursing. He began his medical career at 18, working as a paramedic with Moore County Emergency Medical Services. Kuhn later joined Emergency Medical Services, Inc. in Atlanta, Georgia as a critical care and flight paramedic. Before joining FirstHealth, he worked as a nurse at Wake Forest Baptist Health treating trauma and post-surgical patients. He said nursing had always been one of his goals in life.

“I became a nurse because I felt a calling to help my fellow human beings, and I strive to achieve excellence in every aspect of my job,” Kuhn said. “It’s always a rewarding feeling when you know you had a meaningful impact on someone’s life.”

Additionally, he provides consulting education services to health care professionals across the nation on a variety of topics.

In his spare time, Kuhn enjoys cheering on the Tar Heels and spending time outdoors working on his small farm. His wife, Julie, is an occupational therapist and the pair have two Australian Shepherds.

As part of a team of physicians in nine outpatient locations throughout the Sandhills, FirstHealth Cardiology – Pinehurst is available to provide patients with quality comprehensive heart care. For appointments and referrals call (855) 695-7915.
