FirstHealth Opens Phone Line for COVID-19 Vaccine Appointments in Montgomery County

UPDATE: Due to weather conditions across the country, vaccine shipments for this week are delayed. Scheduling for the first dose clinic on Thursday, February 18 has been paused. We will update this page as soon as more information is available.
TROY, N.C. -- FirstHealth of the Carolinas is registering eligible members of the public for COVID-19 vaccinations in Montgomery County on Thursday, February 18.
Anyone 65 or older who would like to be vaccinated this Thursday should call (910) 571-5018 to schedule an appointment. Please be prepared to leave a voicemail message with your name, date of birth, email address and a phone number where you can be reached.
A representative of FirstHealth will call you back to schedule the appointment. The clinic will be held at the James Garner Center on Thursday, February 18 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Teachers, school system employees and childcare workers under 65 years old are not eligible to receive vaccines in North Carolina until February 24.
A limited number of doses are available, and if vaccine supply is exhausted before all calls are returned, calls will be returned when more supply is available. FirstHealth officials request you don’t leave multiple messages and encourage only those who are currently eligible to call the registration line.
“We encourage anyone 65 and over who wants a vaccine to call and get an appointment,” Rebecca W. Carter, MSN, R.N., FACHE, president of FirstHealth Montgomery Memorial Hospital in Troy, said. “We know that these vaccines along with the 3 Ws will help us bring this pandemic to an end.”
COVID-19 vaccination requires two doses. The second dose will be given approximately 28 days after the first dose. FirstHealth will schedule patients for a second vaccine at the time recipients receive their first shot. In Montgomery County clinics, FirstHealth is currently administering the Moderna vaccine.
Please be prepared to wait at least 15 minutes after vaccination. All vaccinated persons will be monitored for any side-effects by FirstHealth personnel.
