PINEHURST, NC – FirstHealth of the Carolinas and Pinehurst Medical Clinic recently welcomed electrophysiology nurse practitioner, Niki Chieka, DNP.
Prior to joining Pinehurst Medical Clinic in conjunction with FirstHealth Cardiology, Chieka worked as an electrophysiology nurse practitioner at Banner University Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona. She began her nursing career in 2009 as a travel nurse, taking assignments across the United States.
Chieka received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and a Master of Public Health from Liberty University. Additionally, she holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice, Family Nurse Practitioner degree and an Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certificate from the University of Arizona. She said her interest in medicine started at a young age and she has enjoyed the electrophysiology field since graduating from nurse practitioner school.
“I love being able to make a tangible difference in people’s lives, whether it’s through interventions that alleviate arrhythmia symptoms or the implantation of pacemakers to improve heart rate response,” she said.
Chieka relocated to North Carolina with her boyfriend and said she is happy to be closer to family on the east coast. Her hobbies include hiking, running and international travel.
